We live in a broken world—a world that is full of pride, sin, lust, lies, hatred and pure evilness. But we also know that we live in a world that can be full of joy, peace, happiness, and love if we’re tapped into the right source. Now it’s up to us to choose which source we want to be tapped into: the source of God Himself being manifested in our lives, or the source of chaos and destruction that derives from the enemy. One way to fill our lives with that joy, peace, happiness, and love is to study the Word of God- the Holy Bible that will lead us and guide us into truth.
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. – Mark 12:30-31, KJV
If we can somehow grasp this concept in our world today, then I believe that we would start to see less and less evil happening. Maybe then we would be able to see all people get along whether you’re black, white, Asian, Indian, a police officer, civilian, or however you’d define yourself. It’s a very simple commandment that the Lord gave to us, and it’s a shame that we’re failing as individuals and as a nation to just love. All we have to do is treat others the same way we would want to be treated.
For all those who truly feel the pain that this world is going through and truly want to make a positive impact, we can start by simply praying and asking God to seal these scriptures from Mark into our hearts so that we understand what it truly means to love. When we learn to love the Lord the proper way, then we will be able to love others as ourselves. Only love can stop the wickedness in today’s society. So I say, how about we make it our duty to love our Lord so that we can love our neighbor, even when they treat us wrong? That’s what true love is!
