To all my people who don’t want to feel to guilty about stuffing your face on Thanksgiving, I’ve got a super-fast Turkey Day workout just for you! This workout will help save on time both in the routine itself AND travel time because you don’t even have to go to a gym. You can do this right in the comfort of your own home (or whoever’s house you might be at on Thanksgiving morning).
The formula is simple: just choose 3 exercises, like body squats, push-ups and sit-ups. Challenge yourself to do 100-200 reps of each exercise within 20-40 minutes. If that sounds a little bit too advance for you, then drop the number of repetitions to something challenging but still doable. Remember you want to maintain proper form throughout!
You could also choose to spread your reps out over the course of the day, with your goal simply being to finish the amount of repetitions per exercise that you decided on. This way you don’t feel like you have to plan 20-40 minutes of your day on exercising while trying to help out in the kitchen or just spend quality time with the family. It can be as simple as completing 20 to 40 repetitions per hour or two until you complete your goal for the day.
Now I know that we can easily make excuses as to why we won’t be able to fit exercising in our schedule on Thanksgiving Day, but a perfect time to get it done is during the football games. While the rest of your family members are stuffing their faces and sitting around watching the Thanksgiving games, challenge yourself to complete reps during timeouts and halftime. There are usually 3 games on Thanksgiving; challenge yourself to do 100-200 reps of a different exercise during each game. If working out in the house doesn’t sound fun enough for you, another option would be to get involved with a turkey bowl football game in the neighborhood. There’s usually always a good group of neighbors and family members wiling to get in on an organized game of football on Turkey Day, so why not join in? Just be sure to play safe so you can actually enjoy the food and not be in pain!
